The English Language: Slowly being DESTROYED!

Since the beginning of time, people have always had a way of communicating with each other. Through each generation of humans new things are discovered or created, however this isn't the only thing that changes. Many people don't realize that with each generation, comes a decreasing care for their past. A lot of changes that have happened or will happen eventually occur for the best, but people never want to at least recognize where we've come from, and what we've destroyed.
For example, our language at one point, was very proper. As generations passed it became more easy going. I feel that wasn't the issue, cause people still knew how to be polite when they had to be as a whole. What I'm trying to get to is that in this modern day age, people as a whole don't care. It's not even that they just don't care about speaking properly, it's about every aspect of their lives! It's one thing to talk slang with your friends or at the right times, but most don't seem to have the capability to own two sets of language. As a whole where ever you go, you will find multiple examples of what I'm talking about. It almost sounds crazy, but listen to the people around you in a public place; listen to the way they talk to each other then think of how illiterate they're presenting themselves to be. It's actually kind of sad cause you know that it's always gotten worse, and its bound to continue to do the same.
Not only do these people present themselves to be illiterate, they are sometimes even seen as being rude! For example, when I was treat or treating this year. You will see how much things have changed as you see the little kids. There were two things I saw, one the little kids either aren't taught how to be polite when going from house to house, or they won't say trick-or-treat, and sometimes they don't even say thank you! Is it that parents don't show kids what is right from wrong, or is like I said originally that the younger generations show less and less care for using polite language or even using it at all.
The best I can assume is that things will end up changing for the good at some point. The only thing that comes with that statement is the only way to find out, is to wait and see for ourselves.

  1. I can entirely agree with your whole post. It did make me laugh when you wrote, "treat or treating." It's a type I assume, but it added unintentional humor. Also, I agree with you on the fact that everything will change for the better one day. I hope it's during our time, but if not, I hope the world turns around. With the increasing amounts of electronics doing a human's job, who knows when we won't have to speak anymore because we invent a machine that thinks and speaks for us. The future is unknown and I believe that's what we fear the most. Very good post.
