Days Come
Days Go
This isn't good enough for some
While others are at their low
We all are lost
In some shade of gray
Some lives are tossed
While few learn how to walk away
There are no answers for our pain
In this world filled with Gray
We all seek for something to gain
But we are told not to stray away
We don't know what tommorow will bring
Some hope it may be the day
That the answers will begin to ring
That this gray will soon fade away
You let me read this in class on the first day when this was assigned, and I was thoroughly impressed. It really evokes a lot of emotions. It had me thinking of which person I am- am I okay with going days, or am I at a low? It gives hope at the end when you say "that this gray will soon fade away." Bravo. This is well written. It would be great to see an extended version of this.
ReplyDeleteYou did a really great job with this poem! It makes me think about different kinds of people, and how we do all mix into a shade of gray before we find what we're really meant to do. I like how this poem is kind of open ended. While reading this, you're not sure if the gray will fade away or if you'll stay lost forever. Great job, Dave! This really makes me think.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the statement when it says that "we don't know what tomorrow will bring". Some people are unsure about their futures and some are worried about that. Also, I see a great importance in the quote "that this gray will soon fade away" because everyone is hoping that the gray will fade away and their future will be clear. I can relate to this because I am unsure about what my future will hold for me.
